The View From Here

The View From Here was a long term project focusing on the theme of resist or embrace. The message I choose was embracing the natural beauty of Oregon and more specifically Portland, with Mount Hood being the view we can see from almost anywhere in the city.

The steps taken for this project was drafting multiple different rough drafts and really seeing what elements were most important for this specific project. I first started by hand drawing the mountain and then scanned it into my computer. From there I used Adobe Illustrator to make the pattern of the boarder that was inspired by the shape of skis. After all of the individual components were made everything was then pieced together to make the final poster.

This poster was on sale at Extracto coffee Roasters in Portland Oregon, as well as for sale at Benson Polytechnic High Schools annual Tech Show the following month.

The Benson Orbit

The Benson Orbit is an interstitial graphic I made for Benson Polytechnic High School's student news paper. I worked with school administration and students to make the graphic. Every element of this project was taken into consideration, from the color pallet to the shape of the orbiting star and the speed at which it moves. I used Adobe Illustrator to make the initial symbols then used Adobe Animate to put it all together and produce this final outcome.

Boys Team Merch

This project was for Westside Dance and Gymnastics Academy in Tigard Oregon. The goal was to create a team sweatshirt design for the boys gymnastics team. On the left are all of the the possible designs I had come up with.

I worked with the main coach for the team, family's, and most importantly the athletes themselves to come up with a design that we all felt represented them best. We made sure to show case the sequence of events in olympic order which is standard for most gymnastics meets. The W on the back of the sweatshirt design was made separately in Illustrator from the rest of the text so that it coordinates with Westside Academys logo. All of the event icons were made in Adobe Illustrator along with the emblem on the front of the sweatshirt.

Once the final design was chosen I took the reference photo of the sweatshirt the team was going to order and used photoshop to layer the graphic onto it to show case an example of the final result, as seen to the left.
